Join us on one of our tours, we run all year, summer and winter. Get away and relax, meet new and old friends, forget the rat-race for a while. To make life even easier we can collect your bike and deliver it to the start point of your tour, then transport it home again afterwards. If you like we can arrange to collect and deliver you to the start of a tour, then take you home again afterwards by private luxury car. This tour takes in the natural beauty of Exmoor, the winding sweeping roads and the danger of stray sheep. The rugged coastline of north Devon offers the challenge of Porlock hill (1 in 4) and the long decent into Lynmouth.

The routes we use are generally free from traffic and hold-ups, however tourists get every where so you need to be alert, round the next bend there may be a tractor, a flock of sheep or a Volvo driver having a picnic. This tour takes in the open moor land and tree lined, twisting approaches to Dartmoor. Stray sheep, ponies and tourists can be additional hazards on this days challenging and rewarding ride. The open moor land offers some magnificent riding and the scenery is good too. This tour takes in the the Quantock hills that sit on the Devon, Somerset border. Good views, empty roads, picturesque villages, good pubs. Like all rural areas we have to watch out for stray sheep, cattle, ponies, pheasants and Volvo drivers.

The Quantock hills are a magnet for mountain bikers as the rates of assent and decent are the greatest in Britain (you go up and down more here than anywhere else). So it can be great fun on a motorcycle. Each day we will ride approximately 150 miles of scenic and challenging roads. We pause briefly at historic sites of interest and natural beauty morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea are not forgotten. Each day offers a new challenge as a rider, with time to relax and enjoy some of Britain's finest country side.

Devon-Rider tours are designed for those that enjoy relaxed, stress free riding in the scenic countryside. This doesn't mean we crawl round at walking pace, but that we travel at speeds suited to the road conditions and your riding ability. There is always time to take in the scenery, take a few photographs and enjoy the open road on a Devon-Rider tour. Here in Devon there are plenty of clear roads with challenging sweeping bends to get the adrenalin going when you want to (watch out for the stray sheep on Exmoor) we can arrange a warm bed, a good meal, and something to drink as well.

Our tour program has free periods built in on a regular basis to allow for a range of "Made-To-Measure" tours. These tours are tailored to suit the requirements of individual groups of riders and can cover any area of the south west. You can pick the area, the general l ocation or even pick the entire route.

Best driving roads in UK

The beautiful island of Great Britain has some amazing architecture, wonderful nature and great people. It is hard to experience all that at once, especially if you don't have much time, and that is why you should take your own car, or even better - a motorcycle, and be your own boss, decide where to go and what to see. But there is even more - you can pick certain roads that will help you see and experience as much as possible, because in UK, there are some pretty scenic and amazing driving roads. Beside many guided motorcycle tours, you can find many tips and tricks on this website and hear about roads that will make you want to just keep driving.

In UK, it is not the case that everything is about the capital city, London, because there are many other cities that offer more in different aspects, like relaxation, nature, architecture, history and many other things. So make sure, if you stay in London, to visit other cities as well, and to rent a motorcycle because that is the best way to enjoy your ride on the British roads.

If you are looking for a chance to explore the British countryside, to just take your motorcycle and take a break from all the guided motorcycle tours and just enjoy your time with yourself, the nature and peacefulness of the place you are at, then you should consider traveling a little more west, to Wales or the green lands. This also means a break from http://www.camplace.com, because you will be on road for a few days, but you will catch up soon, that is for sure. There is a beautiful city, very close to Bristol, called Ashwick, with some great old buildings and surrounded with incredible calm and peaceful landscapes. What you need to do is take your motorcycle, pack a few things and go to Bristol, take a room there and make sure to get to Ashwick in the morning. You can stay there a few hours and explore the city, but short after noon you should go on, because the road is waiting for you, and this is not a guided motorcycle tour, so you have to manage your time by yourself. Take the road B3135 from Aschwick to Cheddar, which is also a small town but it's very charming. The city is not what you will find mesmerizing, though, because the road will be amazing. There is nature, and only nature on both sides, green grass, trees and stones. You will find it great, for sure.

From Bristol you can also go to Upper Brynamman, a little village in Powys, which is beautiful, but not the thing we are looking for. The roads to this village may be good, but the real amazing thing is waiting for you - A4069 or also known as the Black Mountain Road. This road is just scenic as it gets and it is just as good taking it on your own, if not even better, like doing it with a guided motorcycle tour, because of the silence, the nature and just the amazing atmosphere.
